Beat Secondary Infertility

When baby dreams are more difficult in achieving the second time around

The stereotypical picture of infertility is a childless couple who for whatever reason is unable to conceive a baby, or successfully carry a baby to full term for a healthy birth.  There is another face of infertility called secondary infertility.

What is Secondary Infertility?

A clinical definition of secondary infertility reads something like this:

  • The inability to conceive a child when there has been previous instance, or instances, of conception and birth.

In plain English, this means a couple, or individual, who has already had children for whatever reason is not able to have more children.

Some might belittle the plight of secondary infertility sighting the existing children.  Yet it is the existing child (or children) that make secondary infertility so difficult.  Couples are plagued by doubts and wonder what they did wrong to make having another baby so difficult.  The bottom line of infertility is that no matter which scenario you are enduring the road is long and difficult–period.

Infertility Treatment Options

Despite the difference in child count between primary and secondary infertility the treatment options are the same.  Couples can choose from a variety of traditional medical treatments including medications, Intrauterine Insemination and In Vitro Fertilization; complimentary and alternative therapies like yoga, acupuncture, herb therapy and many others.

Couples who wish to learn more about beating secondary infertility, treatment options or specific alternative therapies proven to lead to healthy natural conception should read The Pregnancy Miracle.  To learn more about this book, its contents and success rate, visit this site here.
